Growing through Kurrajong Kids
At Kurrajong Kids, we see childhood as a journey of growth, discovery and connection.
From a baby’s earliest relationships to a child’s growing confidence, independence and sense of identity, every stage brings something unique to be recognised, supported and celebrated.
Our room names change as children progress through the service, beginning with Seedling and moving through names inspired by native plants and trees found across the Albury–Wodonga region, ultimately arriving at Kurrajong in their final year with us. Together, they reflect our connection to the local environment and our belief that children thrive when they have strong roots, a genuine sense of belonging and opportunities to grow and reach further.
While our rooms reflect different ages and stages, we know that no two children grow in exactly the same way. Transitions between rooms are guided by each child’s individual development, confidence and readiness, rather than age alone.
Our educators take the time to know each child; their personality, strengths, interests, culture, family, routines and individual needs.

Our Rooms
Seedling | 6 weeks–15 months
A gentle beginning.
A warm and nurturing beginning where secure relationships and responsive care come first. Through unhurried interactions routines, sensory experiences, movement, communication and exploration, our youngest children are supported to develop trust, connection and a strong sense of belonging. Our Seedling Room caters for up to 12 children.
Gumnut | 15 months–2 years
Growing confidence.
A time of growing curiosity, movement, communication and independence. Children are encouraged to explore, make choices, investigate their environment and take increasingly confident steps – always knowing a trusted educator is nearby to encourage and support them. Our Gumnut Room caters for up to 12 children.
Bottlebrush | 2–3 years
Big personalities. Growing independence. Busy, curious and full of personality! Through imaginative play, movement and exploration, children are encouraged to express themselves, make choices, build friendships and discover just how capable they are. Our Bottlebrush Room caters for up to 16 children.
Wattle | 2–3 years
Little discoveries. Growing confidence. A place where curiosity blossoms and independence grows. Through play, creativity and meaningful connections, children are supported to explore their interests, navigate big emotions, develop friendships and grow in confidence every day. Our Wattle Room caters for up to 20 children.
River Gum | Pre-Kindy | 3–4 years
Belonging, wondering & discovering.
A vibrant place for growing friendships, big imaginations and curious minds. Children are encouraged to wonder, investigate, create, problem-solve and share increasingly complex ideas. Educators build on children's interests and curiosity while supporting confidence, independence, relationships and a growing sense of belonging within their learning community. Our River Gum Room caters for up to 22 children.
Kurrajong | Pre-Prep | 4–5 years
Growing strong. Reaching further.
The final stage of the Kurrajong Kids journey brings together the strong foundations’ children have developed along the way. Through play, investigation, meaningful projects and intentional teaching, children continue building confidence, curiosity, independence, resilience, collaboration and a positive identity as learners. As children move towards school, we support the whole child - helping them leave Kurrajong Kids with strong roots beneath them, confidence in who they are and the courage to keep reaching further. Our Kurrajong Room caters for up to 22 children.
