Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
The Australian Government provides financial assistance to eligible families through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), helping to reduce the cost of early childhood education and care.
The amount of CCS your family receives depends on several factors, including your combined family income, family circumstances, the number and ages of children attending care, and the hours of subsidised care you are entitled to.
How do families apply?
To receive CCS, families need to:
Apply for Child Care Subsidy through their Centrelink online account linked to myGov.
Meet the relevant eligibility and immunisation requirements.
Provide the necessary details to Kurrajong Kids during enrolment.
Confirm their child’s enrolment details through myGov once submitted by our service.
The 3 Day Guarantee
From 5 January 2026, eligible families can access a minimum of 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight, regardless of their work or study commitments. Some families may qualify for up to 100 hours per fortnight.
CCS is generally paid directly to Kurrajong Kids to reduce your child care fees. Families are responsible for paying the remaining out-of-pocket amount (gap fee).
We encourage families to apply for CCS before their child commences care to help ensure their subsidy is in place.
Complying Written Arrangements (CWA)
A Complying Written Arrangement (CWA) is an agreement between your family and Kurrajong Kids that outlines your child’s agreed care arrangements, including their booked days, session times and applicable fees.
Before Child Care Subsidy (CCS) can be paid, families must:
Complete and agree to a CWA with Kurrajong Kids.
Ensure the parent or guardian named on the CWA is the same person claiming CCS through Centrelink.
Confirm their child’s CCS enrolment through their Centrelink online account linked to myGov, once Kurrajong Kids has submitted the enrolment details.
If your child’s care arrangements change, your CWA may need to be updated.
Important: Signing a CWA does not automatically activate CCS. Your CCS claim must also be approved by Services Australia, and your child’s enrolment details must be confirmed.

Immunisations
Under Victoria’s No Jab, No Play legislation, families must provide a current Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) before their child’s enrolment in long day care or kindergarten can be confirmed.
The statement must show that your child:
Is up to date with immunisations required for their age;
Is following an approved catch-up immunisation schedule; or
Has a valid medical exemption recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register.
Some families may be eligible for a 16-week support period to obtain the necessary immunisation records or access vaccinations.
Families can obtain their child’s Immunisation History Statement through their myGov account, linked to Medicare.
For further information, please refer to the immunisation resources and fact sheets below.
